Chauncy I, Washburn, 77, died at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha. Mr. Washburn was born July 9, 1908 in Fremont. He attended Fremont schools. He worked as a sheet metal and furnace man, and at one time owned and operated his own business, known as All Seasons. Mr. Washburn was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Fremont and Fremont Eagles Aerie 200. Mr. Washburn was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Gretchen Brown, on April 21, 1975. The couple married on October 31, 1927. On November 12, 1976, he married the former Marjorie Moody Sorensen. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Vitamvas, of Arvada, CO., and Meichell (Edward) Hayden of Fremont; two septdaughters, Margie (Mike) Jensen of Fremont and Alyce (Wes) Petersen of Schuyler; one stepson, Duane "Korky" Bullock of Fremont; one sister, Bernadine (Dean) Brown of Fremont; one brother, Harry Washburn of Fremont; and four grandchildren. The Rev, Mark Grorud officiated. Burial was in Fremont's Ridge Cemetery.
