MAJ US ARMY WORLD WAR II KOREA DAILY INTER LAKE October 7, 2000 Jesse E. Hall, 82, died October 7, 2000 from an accident on the Ahrnklin River in Alaska. He was born November 14, 1918 in Kennebec, South Dakota. His family moved to Kalispell in 1929. He graduated from Flathead County High School in 1938 and attended Montana State University on a football scholarship. He was in the military during World War II and was given a commission on the battlefield during the Battle of the Bulge. After returning to Kalispell, he was called back to service and to the Korean War, serving in Japan and later in Alaska and again in Germany. In November 1966, he retired from the United States Army with the rank of major. After retirement, he was general manager of Whidbey Island Officers Club and Bachelor Officer Quarters, Whidbey Island, NAS, Washington. After that job, he was catering manager for Tyee Motor Inn in Olympia, Washington and went from there to commercial fishing out of Westport, Washington. After that retirement, he fished the rivers around the Olympic Peninsula and in Alaska. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother. He is survived by one brother, Ray E. Hall and his wife Yvonne of Kalispell; and niece Dolores LaLiberte and husband Terry of Newport, Oregon.
