Ames - The funeral for Thelma E Buchholtz, 71, of rural Ames will be 2 p.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. She died Friday, Nov 24, 1995, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Thelma Hansen was born Jan 25, 1924, in Ames. She grew up in Fremont and was a lifetime resident of the area. She married Melvin Buccholtz Dec 3, 1941, in Fremont, and worked at the former Omar Bakery in Fremont for about 10 years before it closed,. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 Auxiliary of Fremont. Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger of Fremont; a daughter, MelRae (Mrs. Brian) Freeman of Ames; a sister, Dorothy Jorgensen of Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. The Rev. Ronald Croom will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be 1-8 tonight, 1-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to the time of Monday's service, all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
