Bio

Frank Hanson, 67, of Orland, passed away on the evening of June 21st, at his home, with his wife, Karen of 40 years by his side. This ended a year long battle with cancer. In accordance with his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at his daughter's home located at 341 Butte Street in Orland on July 14, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. Frank was born June 12, 1945 to father, Elmo Hanson and mother, Agnes Schrumpf. He attended Lake Elementary School and graduated from Orland High School in 1964. Frank raised by his mother, Agnes and step-father, Quinten Schrumpf, along with his brothers, Richard, Chris and Mike; and sisters, Fran and Sandra on the family farm in the Lake area. Frank and Karen married in December 1971. They raised two children, Mike and Kim. Frank's daughter, Kim married Chuck Cutshall in 2004 and later blessed them with two grandchildren, Gracie Mae and Emma Louise, which were an inspiration. They brought so much joy to him everyday all the way to the very end. Frank worked for 40 years as an independent truck owner and his son, Mike joined the family business seven years ago. Frank was known for his sense of humor and jokes. Family was extremely important to him; he coached his daughter's softball team for many years, and was looking forward to helping coach his granddaughters. Frank enjoyed hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Frank's family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support during this time.
