Bio
Son of Joe & Mercedes (Deegan) Brandl. He grew up in the Cornlea & Humphrey area and attended school in Cornlea and Humphrey High. He served in the U.S. National Guard from 1949 - 1952. On May 31, 1951 David was united in marriage to Darlene Hecker in Columbus, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed north of Monroe for 50 years until retiring and moving to Columbus in 1996. David was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and previously served with the Civil Defense. His hobbies included C. B. radios, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by: Wife Darlene Brandl of Columbus, NE Daughter Sherry (Rich) Bender of Humphrey, NE Son Tom (Sharon) Brandl of Monroe, NE Son David (Darlene) Brandl, Jr. of Columbus, NE Daughter Judy (Gene) Galitz of Lander, WY Daughter Jolene (Rick) Moon of Omaha, NE Brother Kenneth (Pat) Brandl of Humphrey, NE Eleven Grandchildren Five Great Grandchildren One Step Granddaughter He is preceded in death by: Father Joe Brandl Mother Mercedes Brandl Sister Donna Brandl
