Bio
Son of Albert & Hilda (Zeleny) Bernt. He received his education at Polk County District #68. In 1941 Eugene entered the U.S. Army and served during WWII until 1946 when he returned home. Eugene was united in marriage to Helen Miksch on April 8, 1947 in Platte Center, Nebraska. He farmed in Platte County for over fifty years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church where he had served on the Parish Council, and was a member of Holy Name Society and a Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. Eugene served on the District #3 School Board for 12 years and was a 4-H leader for 15 years.
