Melissa A. Lavicky, age 58 of Dwight, died Thursday June 21, 2012 at the Butler County Health Care Center. Melissa was born June 14, 1954 to Francis Arthur and Mary Alice (Svoboda) Rea at Schuyler, NE. Melissa was a graduate of Clarkson School of Nursing. Melissa was united in marriage to Val Lavicky on October 21, 1976 in Schuyler. Melissa was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight Vol. Fire Department, as well as an EMT. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, going to garage sales, crocheting, playing cards, traveling, reading and bingo. She was a dedicated nurse at David Place since 1982, she always enjoyed making the residents there feel special; she was a good friend. Survivors are: husband Val of Dwight, NE.; son Jason (Tori) Lavicky of David City, NE.; daughter Megan (Greg) Kozisek of Brainard, NE.; brother Michael (Pattie) Rea of Schuyler, NE.; sisters Sue (Dick) Messersmith of Columbus, NE., Margaret (Lloyd) Stevenson of Richardson, NE. and Beth Cerny of Alamosa, CO; grandchildren: Keegan, Krae and Kasen Lavicky and Reese and Grant Kozisek; sisters and brothers in law Maxine (Willis) Svoboda of Brainard, NE., Pat (Tim) Brock of Silver Creek, NE., Dan (Ann) Lavicky of Lincoln, NE. and Chuck (Cathy) Lavicky of Dwight, NE. and a host of relatives and friends. Melissa was preceded in death by: parents and infant daughter Danielle Lavicky. Interment was in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Dwight, NE.
