BORN OH, a son of Robert Swanson--Nell Derflinger; he wed Doris 25 May 1946 [PER Ashtabula Cnty OH] OH--Ashtabula Star Beacon...26 Nov 1965 ROBERT H SWANSON: Former Ashtabulan; 43, died at Lakewood Hospital Wednesday after-noon [11-24] after a cerebral hemorrhage. MrSwanson was the son of Mrs Nell Swanson of Chestnut Ave. A Cleveland West Side district manager in the Circulation Department of the Plain Dealer for 10 years, he lived on Lauderdale Ave-Lakewood. He was born 22 May 1922, he was graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1940. He served 3.5 years in the Army in WW2 & was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. Before moving to Cleveland, he was employed Sanborn's Grocery & Railway Express Agency in Ashtabula. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: formerly Doris Tidd of Ashtabula; 5 child-ren: Penny, Robert, Chris, Becky & Jeffrey-all at home; 3 sisters: Jean (sp-Robert) Carter, Mildred (sp-Richard) Heath-both of Ashtabula; Winifred (sp-Phillip) Santora-RockyRiver; & a brother: Richard Morrow-Mentor. Calling hours at Saxton Funrl Home-Cleveland; Service will be Saturday morning [11-27] at Yoder Chapel-Lakewood Methodist Church. Volunteer reported problem: Robert was buried in Lakewood Park in 1965 but was dis-interned 12/6/1999. Office has no record of where his body was sent. Office suggested family contact probate court since they give the Ok for removal. They also reported, specifically: Disinterred from this cemetery and reinterred in Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland, Florida.
