MRS. MARY ELLEN MCLAUGHLIN IS DEAD AT 79 YRS. After four years' illness from arteriosclerosis, Mrs. Sarah Ellen McLaughlin passed away Thursday night at 7:45 o'clock at the home of her son, Claude, at 513 North Randolph street in Garrett. She was bedfast for the last year. The funeral was held at the son's home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. W. Earl Pittenger of the Garrett Methodist church officiated and interment was made in Union cemetery, northwest of Garrett. Mrs. McLaughlin died two days before her seventy-ninth birthday. She was born Feb. 3, 1866, at Millersburg, Ind., and her maiden name was Method. She and Charles W. McLaughlin were married May 2, 1889. He was in the garage and automobile business at the time of his death on April 8, 1930. He had served on the city council. A son, Harry, died in 1919. Surviving besides the son, Claude, are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of the Methodist church.
