Gary E. Hykel, 55, of Rowlett, Texas, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett with the Rev. Isadore Rozycki officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Gary Eugene was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Jerry and Dorothy (Olsovsky) Hykel. He married Brenda Medina on July 13, 1985, in Plano, Texas. He was an architect for J. Stuart Todd and Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #1188. Gary was of the Catholic faith. Gary is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Jessica Hykel; son, Steven Hykel, all of Rowlett; sisters, Janet Kavanaugh, of Van, Texas, and Nancy Sulak and husband, Duane, of Robinson; brother, Brian Hykel and wife, Sheila, of Hewitt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
