Bio

COMSTOCK - Helen A. Valla, 79, of Comstock died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, on her farmstead west of Ord in Valley County. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Mark Maresh will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Ms. Valla was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Valley County to Frank and Otlia "Tillie" (Klat) Valla. Survivors of her immediate family include a host of relatives, friends and a special friend, Jerry Sobieszyk of Sargent. Helen was raised on the family farm in Geranium Township of Valley County and graduated from Ord High School in 1951. In her younger years, Helen worked at the Valley County Hospital. She spent her entire life on the farm. Helen enjoyed caring for the cattle, fencing and cutting cedar trees. She was preceded in death by her parents.
