Helen J. Lawson, age 85, of Sumner, IL passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Lawrence Community Healthcare in Bridgeport. She was born November 1, 1926 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Arthur P. and Alice (Seed) Houchin. She married Bill Lawson on September 1, 1950 and he passed away December 4, 1986. Helen was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and one brother. Survivors include two sons, Neal Lawson of Bridgeport and Steve (Cindy) Lawson of rural Sumner; one sister Phyllis Sheridan of Martinsville, IL; and four grandchildren. Services at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner with burial in Sumner Cemetery.
