The Wolbach Messenger, November 15, 1956, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Funeral services were held Tuesday at one o'clock p.m. in the Methodist Church here for Edward Houtby, nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Houtby of the Olive community... Edward Houtby was born June 20, 1947 at Tekamah, Nebraska and passed away Sunday, November 11, 1956 at the hospital in Fullerton, Nebraska, where he had been a patient for almost 3 weeks. He had been in ill health for the past four years. Edward attended the district 13 (Olive School) in Nance County when his health permitted. He moved with his family to the Olive community about five years ago. Edward was baptized in the Methodist faith. Survivors include his parents, one brother and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
