Bio

Bill L. Sadler, 63, of Tanoan Court, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home. Bill was born December 3, 1948 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Billy and Lee (Wilson) Sadler. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1966. Bill attended New Mexico Highlands University and later received an Associates degree in Criminal Justice from NMSU-C. He also graduated from the National Judicial College. Bill married Christy McAnally on December 20, 1969 here in Carlsbad. He began his law enforcement career with the Eddy County Sheriff's Department and later with the Carlsbad Police Department in various capacities, ultimately serving as Detective Captain. Bill transitioned to the judicial branch, serving three terms as Eddy County Magistrate Judge. After retiring, he was able to devote additional time in support of his hobbies of BMW motorcycles and golf. Bill was previously active in the community as a member of Carlsbad Rotary Club and was recipient of the prestigious Liberty Bell Award.
