Bio

Son of Alfred Herman Braun and Amanda Mickan In 1930, the family lived in Corpus Christi, Texas. Lester was thirteen at the time of the Census. His older sister, Beatrice (17), and younger brother, Johnnie (3), were also in the home He attended schools in Corpus Christi, Texas and was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. In 1942, he married Lila Jeanette Morris prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. He served as a naval architect from November 1942 until February 1946 when he was honorably discharged.
