Funeral services for Garland A. Nicholson, 98, of Rayville, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville with Rev. Roger Johnson and Rev. Chris Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA. Mr. Garland was born October 1, 1913 in Arcadia, LA and passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Rayville, LA. Mr. Nicholson was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Rayville, LA. Garland worked many years as a farmer and a Richland Parish school bus driver. He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Willie Nicholson; grandson, Brian Nicholson; brothers, Roy Nicholson and Aubrey Nicholson. Survivors include his wife, Estelle Nicholson of Rayville, LA; children, Joann Futch and husband, Algie of Calhoun, LA, Bennie Nicholson and wife, Donna of Victor, TX, James Nicholson and wife, Margaret of West Monroe, LA, and Thomas Nicholson and wife, Ann of Rayville, LA; 8-grandchildren, 11-great grandchildren, and 1-great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Mike Linder, Wayne Carr, Joe Comeaux, Larry Milby, Glenn Bryan, Duke Jones, Johnny Townsend, and Joe Seymour. Visitation is 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
