"Kenneth W. Morgan, 87 of Odessa entered eternal rest June 10, 2012 at Crane Nursing Center, Crane, Texas. Graveside services have been scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Glen Cove Cemetery, Glen Cove, Texas, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, Coleman, Texas. "Kenneth was born June 14, 1924 to Lydia and Samuel W. Morgan in Waco, Texas. He married the love of his life, L. C. Morgan, October 19, 1946. He was a faithful member of 6th and Jackson Church of Christ. He served during World War II aboard the U. S. S. O'Brien DD 725 and was a member of the VFW. Kenneth was a Petroleum Pioneer having been first employed in the petroleum industry in 1949. He retired after many years from Delta Drilling. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, L. C. Morgan of 58 years, son Merrel Morgan, daughter in law; Eva Morgan and grandson; Russell Morgan. "He is survived by one son, Skippy and wife Sherry Morgan of Donna, Texas. One daughter: Sue Halfacre of Odessa, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 1 brother Arlis "Sug" Morgan and wife Margaret of McCamey and four nieces, one nephew, and numerous friends. "In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Compass Hospice, 1330 E. 8th St. Odessa, Texas 79761 or to the charity of one's choice. "The family would like to especially thank the nurses at Compass Hospice and the entire staff of Crane Nursing Center who loved and cared for him the past 8 months."
