Hillsboro Reporter Monday, July 12, 2004 BILLY POPP Mr. Billy Robin (Rob) Popp, 50, of Dallas died Thursday, July 8, 2004, in Dallas. He was born February 17, 1954, in Waco, son of Billy Adolph and Bernice M. Acton Popp. He graduated from Abbott High School in 1972 and Southwest Texas State University in 1976. He also graduated from Texas State Technical Institute in electronics. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Adolph Popp, in 1977; and three uncles, Edmond Lee Popp, Eugene Popp and John W. Acton. He was a member of King Memorial United Methodist Church of Whitney. Survivors include: his loved one, Jana Sumruld of Dallas; mother, Bernice M. Popp of Whitney; loving sister, Mary Lou Lybrand and husband, Robert, of Dallas; one nephew, Nicholas Lybrand; and several cousins. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to King Memorial United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 612, Whitney 76692.
