He was the son of Brookson Campbell Shields and Sara Frances Pell Shields.He was the father of Grover Brookson Jr.,G.W.Shields,Gladys Shields Calhoun, Frances Shields Carey, Doris Nell Shields, Claude Earl Shields Sr,Betty Jo Shields Logston and Dollie Dee Shields Fitch and D.E. Shields.He was a strong Christian man who loved his family. He died at age 39 from pneumonia.
