Bio
Joe Novak, 89, of Loup City, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Mr. Novak chose to have his body cremated. A family memorial service will be held this summer. Peters Funeral Home of Loup City assisted the family. Mr. Novak was born on March 27, 1921, at Burwell, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Mary (Jurusek) Novak. He was united in marriage to Blanche Kowalski on November 26, 1946, in Loup City. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Novak of Loup City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Judy and Greg Trader of Belton, Texas and Diane Novak of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Derek, Cody and Britney; and three great-grandchildren, Diego, Jillian and Jadye; a sister-in-law, Rose Mary Kowalski of Loup City; and many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Novak; and one sister, Bessie Hlavinka. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Senior Center or the Loup City EMTs.
