Clyde Voice Republican Thursday November 14, 1918 Page 7 Nicholas Quinnette Dead Nicholas Quinnette, aged 50 years, died last night at the local hospital at 11:50 o’clock. He had been in a critical condition since last Sunday, when he met with an accident in which he sustained a fractured skull, which caused his death. While at work at the Public Service Co., plant a piece of tile fell from a height of 30 feet, striking him on the head. He was taken to the hospital and everything was done that medical skill could achieve to restore him, but his injuries proved fatal. Mr. Quinnette was an upright Christian man and his life was an exemplary one. He attended services Sunday morning and received all the last rites of his church before passing to his Maker. He was a member of the local council, Leo XIII, Knights of Columbus. He was born in Wisconsin and had been a resident of York for about two years. Surviving his death are his wife and four children, two sons and two daughters. They are Robert and Purcell, of Havelock Anna of Omaha, and Marie Lorena, who resides at home. The latter is very ill from pneumonia at the family home, 801 Elmer Avenue, York, Neb. Times, Wednesday, November 7, 1918 Nicholas Quinnett was a resident of this city for many years, and left here about six years ago, going to York, Neb., where he has since made his home. Funeral services were held from St. Joseph’s Church at York, Neb., last Friday morning and his body arrived here the same night, and burial was made in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Saturday morning. Two committeemen of Knights of Columbus followed the remains here to arrange for the burial.
