Bio

Samuel Briggs was one year old when his family traveled 93 days to Utah with the Uriah Curtis Company. They departed June 28, 1852. Contributor: Lee Ashmore (47026276) Burial: 4/30/1934 ∼ LEHI--Samuel Briggs, 83, died at his home here Saturday morning of a heart attack. He had been in ill health three or four years. Mr. Briggs was born in England February 4, 1851, a son of Samuel and Hannah Dean Briggs. He had made his home in Lehi since 1853. Surviving are widow, Mrs. Jane Scorey Briggs, two brothers, Joseph and George Briggs, Idaho; three half-brothers, Eugene and Lawrence Briggs, American Fork; Azer Peterson Jr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Taylor, Lehi; Mrs. Mary E. Kirkham, Provo and Mrs. Frances Hacking, Canada. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Lehi LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, with interment in Lehi City Cemetery. -The Salt Lake Tribune, April 29, 1934, transcribed by Rhonda Holton Cause of death: Chronic Myocarditis
