Earnestine Turner, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Earnestine was a faithful Christian and a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She exemplified Christ through her love for her family, friends and church. She was a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Carl, for 63 years. He returned that love for her throughout their marriage and especially during the last three years by the loving care he provided during her extended illness. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. They have wonderful memories of the love they shared with her. She was a wonderful cook sharing countless meals, comfort foods, and desserts with her family, church family and friends throughout the community. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Allen and Rene Eavenson. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Buck Eavenson, G.W. Eavenson, and Vernie Eavenson and three sisters, Jessie Phillips, Ruby Lee Walters and Thelma Jones. She is survived by her husband, Carl; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Ann Turner; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gerald Phillips. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andy Turner, Jonathan (Amanda) Turner, Callie (Chad) Flowers, and Kelsie (Michael) Kelly; four great-grandchildren, Bryce and Blayne Turner and Claire and Collin Flowers all of Ellisville. She is survived by one sister, Clementine Parker of Hattiesburg. The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living, Southern Care Hospice, Wesley Medical Center, and Covington County Hospital for their kind and compassionate care during her illness. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home. Funeral services will held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Sand Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
