Arnold D. Kaspar was born in Prague, Nebraska on May 3, 1930 to Charles and Clara (Kriz) Kaspar. He attended elementary school in Prague and graduated from Prague High School in 1948. After farming with his father for a few years, he joined the US Army on July 2, 1951 and served in the Korean War until being honorably discharged on Mar. 27, 1953 with the rank of Sergeant and having received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. Arnold was united in marriage to Wilma Egr on March 1, 1954 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague. They made their home on a farm south of Prague. Arnold operated a dairy farm and raised crops for many years. In his later years, he was retired but was often at his sons helping with farm work. Arnold was an avid card player and enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with friends. He also like watching sports on TV. He passed away June 7, 2011 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo at the age of 81 years. Arnold was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #254 and had served on the Prague School Board. Arnold is survived by his wife Wilma; children, Linda (Robert) McMullen, Kaye Morrison, Mark Kaspar and John Kaspar; grandchildren Linsey (Jason) Weaver, Jennifer Kaspar, Kaleigh Kaspar and Nicole Morrison; great grandchildren Rilynn and Camden Weaver; sisters, Zdenka Urban, Elaine (Allen) Kasper, Marcella (Adolph) Sloup, Nadine Bratcher, June (Al) Madigan, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Clara Kaspar. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, June 11, 2011 ~ 10:30 AM St. John the Baptist Catholic Church,Prague, Nebraska. Interment with Military Honors, American Legion Post #254, Prague National Cemetery, Prague, Nebraska. Visitation: Scripture Service & Rosary: Friday, June 10, 2011, Visitation ~ 5:00-8:00 PM.
