Mrs. Frances Hamata, daughter of Frank and Agnes Styskal, wasborn Feb. 4, 1875 near Appleton, Nebraska. She died April 13, 1957, at the Seward Memorial hospital at the age of 82, after a long illness. On Jan 21, 1896 she was married to Mike Hamata in the Appleton Catholic church. They made their home on a farm near Schuyler for three years and then moved on a farm near Bruno in 1899. They moved to farm northwest of Bee in 1901 and lived there until 1926 when they moved to Bee. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 16, 1957 at the The St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Bee with Rev. John Prachar officiating. Burial was in Bee Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers were two grandsons, Eldon Hamata, Louis Sedlak. Jr. and also Dennis Pavel, James Raiter, Raymond Bartunek and Jerry Hain. Her husband and one son, Mike, Jr., preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Edward of Irvington, Louis of Omaha; three daughters Mrs. Lew Vavroch of. Lincoln, Mrs. Mary Fila of Omaha and Mrs. Agnes Sedlak of Bee; 19 grand children, 49 great grand children; one sister Mrs. William Bartunek of Bee and two brothers; John Styskal of Beatrice and Joe Styskal of Grant, Nebraska.
