Bio
Mrs. Velma Holmes Marsalis Guy, wife of P. R. Guy, well known Illinois Central railroad shop-man, succumbed at 9 o'clock this morning at a local hospital following several weeks of serious illness. She was 48 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from the East McComb Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. Gill, pastor, in charge. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. Guy was the daughter of Mrs. Lula Holmes and the late R. C. Holmes, old-time residents of East McComb, and she leaves a wide circle of bereaved friends. Surviving besides her husband and mother are two daughters, Mrs. Edward Sweeny of Jackson and Mrs. Murray Lambert of McComb; one son, Owen Marsalis of McComb; two step-sons, Reginald and Percy Guy, Jr., of McComb; four brothers, Clyde, Clifton, Alton, and Roy Holmes; and four sisters, Mrs. Sam Montgomery, Mrs. Claude Fenn, Mrs. Florence McManus and Miss Pearl Holmes, all of McComb.
