Bio

Eva Cook Services for Eva Cook age 88 of Grapeland, will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel, Grapeland with Chaplain Cecil Vaden and Bro. Joe Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Cook died Monday at her residence. She was born January 28, 1921 in San Augustine to William Z. and Arrie Jones Short. Mrs. Cook was a LVN nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Grapeland and a member of the Augusta OES # 120. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Harold Cook, and brothers, Jimmy Short, L.B. Short, Simmie Short and J.W. Short. She is survived by her sons Harold Cook, Jr. and wife Janie of Blooming Grove, Joe Cook and wife Kay of Baytown, sisters Effie Bush and Iona Hornsby, a brother J.P. Short and wife Betty of Baytown, four grandchildren, Lisa Sem, Andrew Cook, Randall Cook, and Jason Cook, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Fern, Jennifer, Pat and Essie and to the Piney Woods Hospice, Jan, Shelby and Cecil for the special care that was given to our mother during her illness. Pallbearers will be Jason Cook, Andrew Cook, Eddie Martin, Jerry Reed, M.Z. Shaver and Bill Pervis. Condolence calls will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
