Cecil Norman "Speedy" Hodges of Town Bluff, Texas, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his home. He was 89 years old. He was born May 1, 1923 in Ragley, Lousiana. Mr. Hodges was a World War II Veteran who served in the Army. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Colmesneil, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Hodges, his parents, Hugh G. Hodges and Eunice Bailey Hodges, and great grandchildren, Noah Wallace Matthews and Isaiah Wallace. Survivors include daughters, Karen Hodges and Bevery Crouch both of Town Bluff, Betty Wallace and husband, Mark of Hickory, NC, Marlene Taylor and husband, James of Canyon, Tx; grandchildren, Ashley Nichols and husband, Matt, Susan Wallace, Brandy Wallace, James William Taylor, Meagan Taylor, Kelsey Taylor and Shelly Crouch;great grandsons, Jarod Nichols, Brayden Kirby and Jeremiah Wallace; siblings, Newton Hodges and wife, Odessa, Hugh Hodges and wife, Carol, Joyce Brown and husband, Phil, Mary Ann Gallier and husband, Sammie and many other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 2 pm at the Lakeside Cemetery in Town Bluff with Brother Neil Higginbotham officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
