Bio

Marie Capek was born March 30 1883 in Austria to Wencel and Mary Hoffman Capek. She came to the US with her parents and three sisters, Rose Kate and Susie. They settled on a ranch in Loup County Nebraska in the summer of 1889. Later Mrs Capek moved to Ord so the girls could go to school. Marie married Joseph Adamek October 2 1910 in Ord. They had two daughters, Pauline born 15 July 1912 Holly Prower Colo. and died 4 Nov 2004 in KS Pauline married Robert W. Macneven (1915-1995) Ann Elizabeth b.12 Sept 1914 Holly Prower Colo. She died 22 May 2012. Ann married Fredrick Roberts. A son Paul born 1911 Holly Prower Colo, who died in infancy. Marie ran the jewelry store several years after the death of her husband. Later she became a resident in the Monticello Convalescent Center in Hinsdale Ill., where she passed away on May 21 1977. She is buried in the Ord Cemetery beside her husband.
