Aurora - Former Resident Buried Here Funeral services were held Sunday in the Aurora ward chapel for Samuel Harding, 61, who died of complications resulting from injuries received in a fall at his home in California. Bishop Leland Lazenby presided at the services. Speakers were Lee G. Durfee and Bishop Lazenby. The choir sang "Sometime We'll Understand," "Oh My Father" and "Farewell All Earthly Honors." Mrs. J. E. Day sang "Going Home." A poem, "Tomorrow," was read by Mrs. Sammie Crowther. The invocation was by LeGrand Durfee; the benediction, by Wm. G. Mason. Cline Sorenson dedicated the grave, interment was in the Aurora cemetery. Mr. Harding was born in Provo May 4, 1875. He married Frances Lewis and after their marriage moved to Aurora where he lived until a year ago, when he moved to El Centro, California, thinking the change in climate would improve his health. His body was brought home Saturday for funeral services and burial. Surviving are five daughters one son, Mrs. Peter Nielson, Mrs. Harold Gates, Mrs. Emery Long and Mrs. Sherman Miller, all of Salina; Lucinda and Duane Harding of El Centro, California; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Heber Taylor and Mrs. Frank Taylor of Aurora, Mrs. Boyd Ivie of Provo, William Harding of El Centro, and Oran Harding of Aurora. Besides members of the immediate family, Mrs. Boyd Ivie and son Ray come to Aurora for the funeral. Published in the Richfield Reaper | 1937-02-04
