Bio
George Henry Kroos was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Wheatland and departed this life Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Prague at the age of 87. George, the son of Henry Nicklaus and Antoinette Amelia (Doffing) Kroos, moved to Prague with his parents in 1956. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Frances Novotny. They were married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague on June 6, 1959. He spent his life as a farmer. He was a self-taught builder and built two houses with his father. He could fix and build anything he needed on the farm. He took great pride in taking good care of his family and farm. George was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was the heart of our family. George was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. In his early years, George enjoyed dancing. His hobbies included farming, reading about history and traveling. He enjoyed road trips and over his lifetime traveled with his family to 48 states. All who met George were touched by his kindness and witty sense of humor — all are better because of it. His parents and one sister, Irene, preceded George in death.
