William's surname has been spelled many ways: 1840 Census - Moreland 1850 Census - Mooreland 1860 Census - Morelan 1870 Census - Morland 1878 Grave Stone - Morlan Probate file (#1054) - Moreland I have tried to find William's gravestone, but was not successful. Louisa's gravestone lists William as her husband. Update May 2013, received this note from Wes DeVore: "I am working on the plot book of the jones cemetery. I noticed you were looking for William Morlan husband of Louisa J. in the Wayne county, Iowa cemetery book published by Genealogial society in 1979 covering 1846-1978 " unreadable" beside Louisa J. the info was taken mid 1970's this is the plot north of her between her and Charles B.
