Korean War veteran. The son of George and Jenny (Solisman) Schlotterbeck; he was raised and educated in Los Angeles; and graduated from Midwest High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Marines in Korea from 1948 to 1952. On Nov. 23, 1957, he married Anna Marie Dietz in Casper. Moved with his family to Casper in 1964. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed gardening; playing horseshoes; and flying kites with his children and grandchildren. Since 1979, he had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Edgerton. Survivors include his wife of 46-1/2 years of Mills; four daughters, Brenda Hale and Frankie Schlotterbeck, both of Big Piney, Brida Schlotterbeck of Casper and Dodie MacDonald of California; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and brother, Paul, of LaGrange, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers, and several cousins. He died May 24, 2004, at the Sheridan Veterans Affairs Medical Center, of natural causes. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
