Mrs. Pearl Lois Bell, 96, of Fairfield, formerly of Mexia, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012. Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Lois was born in Kopperl, Texas, to the late Robert English and Dora Hardin Campbell. She lived in Mexia for many years and later, with her daughter in Tucumcari, New Mexico, for a number of years. She dedicated her life to being a full time wife, mother and grandmother. She was known as "Granny Bell" to her grandchildren and many others. Lois loved to read her bible and cook and sew for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, as long as her health permitted, and socializing with her friends at the nursing home. She was a Methodist and a member of the Rebekkah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Duwain Bell; a daughter, Shirley Bell; and six brothers and sisters. Lois is survived by her daughter, Marie Sims and husband, Louis, of Tucumcari, N.M.; sons, Larry Bell and wife, Linda, of Waco, and Mike Bell and wife, Judy, of Mexia; ten grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Essie Mae Steward, of Cleburne; and many more family members and friends.
