Maudie Mudford Maudie R. (Speck) Mudford MULESHOE- Maudie R. (Speck) Mudford, 75, a resident of Mountain Home, Ark. formerly of Muleshoe, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society. She was born August 21, 1936, in Baileyboro, Texas to the late Claud and Clara Harvey Coffman. Maudie loved church very much, growing up in church from a little girl. She began playing piano in church at nine years old. Maudie worked as a bookkeeper for several years as well as farmed with her first husband, W.L. Speck. On January 5, 1997, in Muleshoe, Texas, Maudie married Jerry Lee Mudford. In 2001 Maudie and Jerry relocated from Muleshoe to Mountain Home, Ark. Maudie was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church and was active in the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, W.L. Speck; a brother, Harvey Coffman; and a niece, Cherlyn Mainor. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Jerry Mudford, of Mountain Home, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kay and Michael Walker of Arlington, Texas; two stepdaughters and step-sons-in-law, Kathy and Joe Ambriz of Muleshoe, Texas and Brenda and Shane Kirk of Joshua, Texas; a sister, Jeannine Rundell of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Lela Sue King (Doyle) of Muleshoe, Texas and Sandra Speck of Lubbock, Texas; two uncles, Chester Coffman of Big Spring, Texas and Roger Harvey (Margaret) of Amarillo, Texas; four aunts, Rena Mae Coffman of Grand Junction, Colo., Freda Shuttlesworth of Amarillo, Texas, Fredda Harvey of Cedar Park, Texas and Carol Harvey of Melbourne, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Aaron Walker, Kristin Ambriz, Christopher Ambriz, Brittany (Eddie) Alavarado, Matthew Ambriz and Brianna and Lacie Kirk; two great-grandchildren, Bethany and Emma Grace Alvarado; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bennie Wright officiating, under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Baptist Church in Muleshoe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church.
