~ OBITUARY OF TOMMY CASSELS, JR. Services for Tommy CASSELS, Jr., 76, of Huntington, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery. Mr. CASSELS was born on January 15, 1920 in Zavalla, Texas and he died on Monday, February 12, 1996 at his home in Huntington. Mrs. CASSELS was a retired Angelina County employee. He attended Zavalla Schools, and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Mr. CASSELS worked in law enforcement for the City of Lufkin, the Angelina County Sheriff's Dept., and the City of Huntington. He retired in March 1990 as Angelina County Landfill Supervisor. Mr. CASSELS was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge No. 669, A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Shawnee Prairie Baptist Church. He had lived in Angelina County all his life. Survivors include his wife, Latheta CASSELS; daughters, Karon STANLEY, Tommie Cassels MAJOR; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Gaylene CASSELS; Jimmy and Judith CASSELS; sister, Effie JONES; granddaughters, Lisa WESTERTERP, Lora POWELL and Raegan CASSELS; grandsons, Jay CASSELS, Thomas CASSELS and Eli STANLEY; nephew and niece, T. B. and Delphine JONES; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marwood and Yvonne BUFORD; four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne IRWIN, Allen LOGGINS, Jr., Greg SPIVEY, Clyde HERRINGTON, Richard WARNER and Carl HAVARD. Honorary pallbearers ...
