Bio
Margaret H. Walker, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, with her family at her side. She was 87 years old, and was born in Palmer, Texas, to Charles E. Harper and Bertha Mena Dahnke on February 20, 1925. Margaret is preceded in death by husband, Richard F. "Micky" Walker, sons, Richard G. Walker and L. Tim Walker, and also by her three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Walker, of Rockwall, daughter-in-law, Marty Willis of Ferris, Texas, daughter-in-law, Dianne Walker of Flower Mound, Texas, six granddaughters and one grandson, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and many, many great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Wanda Stacks and Patsy Heard, both of Palmer, two sisters-in-law, Juanita Harper, of DeSoto, Texas, and Agnes Harper, of Mesquite, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews. Margaret was the Valedictorian of the Palmer Bulldogs class of 1942, received a scholarship and attended Draughon's Business College in Dallas. She was a faithful member of The Gospel Lighthouse Church in Dallas from early 1950 until her health prevented her attendance in the late 1990's. She was co-founder of Walker Heating and Air Conditioning Company until she retired in 1973. She donated her time and served on the Advisory Board at Christ For The Nations Institute in the 1980's and 90's, and traveled the world extensively with them. She loved her family unconditionally and was a great source of strength to us all. Memorial services are 10:00 am, Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Jaynes, with interment following at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday.
