Wright was born in Jefferson County, Tennessee the son of William Sydney and Rachel McGee Majors. He married Rachel A. Duncan who was born in South Carolina. To this union eight (8) children were born; Children 1. John Madison MAJORS b: 1 Feb 1831 in White, Illinois, USA 2. William Henry MAJORS b: 4 Jul 1833 3. Wright Greenberry MAJORS b: 12 Mar 1836 4. Susannah L MAJORS b: 18 Feb 1838 5. Louvina Jane MAJORS b: 25 Jun 1840 in White, Illinois, United States 6. Margaret Muhula MAJORS b: 14 Apr 1842 7. Esra O MAJORS b: 19 Aug 1844 8. Charles Manford MAJORS b: 6 Oct 1845 in Clay, Indiana, USA Both Wright and Rachel are buried in Moultrie County.
