Bio

Micajah is son of William F. Bennett and Eleanor 'Elly' Tippett who married in Lebanon, Wilson Co., TN, 31 Jan 1814. He married first Martha Sarah Palmer who died six weeks after the birth of their second son Charles Oliver. Their first child was William H. He then married Nancy Irby Tarver, a widow with a child Sophronia Callie Tarver. Micajah and Nancy had one son Irby Bennett. Micajah was murdered on his way home from his grocery store by three men intent on killing him for his money and the meat he was carrying. He was killed by a large rock thrown to his head and those responsible were later caught and tried. [Wilson Co., grand jury minutes] --by Jan 2012.
