Bio

Jefferson Wright Tatum was born October 22, 1904 in Louvale, Stewart Co., Georgia. He was the son of William Jefferson Tatum and Neva Blanchard "Blanche" Wright Tatum. On June 11, 1925 he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. He resided in Manhattan, New York in 1925 and 1930. He married Olive Ann McKnight before 1936. By 1942 he again resided in Georgia. He listed his occupation as an insurance adjuster. He was the father of two sons, William Jefferson Tatum and Thomas Frank Tatum. He died February 15, 1978 in Savannah, Chatham Co., Georgia. He was interred at the Greenwich Section of the Bonaventure Cemetery which is located by the Wilmington River, east of Savannah, Georgia. He and his wife Ann's graves are located in Section JJ, lots 10 and 11, near the Greenwich Plantation Memorial Fountain.
