Glenda Marie Fennern Empey, 39, of Idaho Falls, an insurance underwriter and secretary, died Dec. 21, 1994, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (Idaho Falls, Idaho) of complications related to lupus. She was born March 29, 1955, at Jamestown, N.D., to James Edward and Delores May Schock Fennern. She lived for a brief time in Jamestown, moved to San Diego (California) for six years, and then to Garden Grove, Calif., for 17 years. She attended schools in Garden Grove and graduated from Pacifica High School before taking training as a medical receptionist. She moved to Idaho Falls 16 years ago. On Aug. 22, 1981, she married Bruce Ernest Empey at Idaho Falls. They lived in Idaho Falls where she worked as an insurance underwriter and as a professional secretary at the Department of Energy. Her hobbies included crafts, golf, bowling, aerobics, playing the piano, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her husband of Idaho Falls; stepchildren, Shawn E. Empey of Idaho Falls, and Valeri M. Empey of Boise (Idaho); her parents of Idaho Falls; two brothers and a sister, James Steven Fennern of Salt Lake City (Utah), Gregory L. Fennern of Idaho Falls, and Mrs. Richard (Lanette) Sumrail of Vicksburg, Miss.; her grandmother, Mary Schock of Idaho Falls; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday (21 Dec 1994) at 2 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls with Paul Evans Officiating. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday for one hour before services. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.
