SHAMROCK - Bill R. Smith, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shamrock Cemetery with Eugene Staton, pastor of Amarillo Living Way Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Smith lived in the Shamrock area most of his life. He was born June 6, 1921, in McCloud, Ok, to Joseph and Martha McDonald Smith. He married Freda Eubank in Wheeler on August 6, 1945. He had worked for Blakemore Chevrolet in Shamrock, Ware's Chevrolet in Wheeler and Woolard's Garage in Shamrock. He served in the Army Air Corps in world War II. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion DeShazo George Post 68. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 1995. Survivors include a son, Bob Smith of Amarillo; two daughters, Billie Kirby and Cynthia Massey, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
