Bio
Clara Anna Mueller Carter, age 96, a lifetime resident of Georgetown/Walburg area, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009. She was born on November 24, 1912 to parents Otto and Anna (Schaake) Mueller. Clara was a member of the Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ. Clara loved to crochet. She made an afghan for every one of her children and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and her great-grandchildren. Clara was a wonderful cook who was always sharing her food with others. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years Edward Carter, a sister Erna Jansen, sons-in-law Donald Sybert and Phil Davis and grandson Doug Sybert. She is survived by her daughters, Edwina Sybert of Georgetown and Jalane Kerlin and husband Alvin of Austin; grandchildren, Donna Maynard, Jodie Brown, Darrell Davis and Brenda Masters; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Minister Randy Brown, Elder Bill Powell and Minister Shawn Montandon all officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's honor to Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ Building Fund, 1904 S. Austin Avenue, Georgetown, Texas 78626.
