Joseph Alvin Nelson, Sr. is the son of John C. and May Luna Arnold Nelson. Joseph married Clelie Cecile Thompson on November 9, 1910, they had five known children: Joseph Alvin Nelson, Jr., Clelie Cecile Nelson, Elise Nelson, Roy Nelson and Yvette Nelson.
