BEAUMONT, March 6—Alexander Elliot Porteous, 56, father of Mrs.Gladys Hastings of Port Arthur, died at a hospital here Monday after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon with burial following in Magnolia cemetery. He had lived here 9 years. In addition to Mrs.Hastings, Mr. Porteous is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Minnie Christian of Vidor, & a son, Walter , of Beaumont. [6 Mar 1929 Port Arthur News]
