Kenneth "Mike" James Fish: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice La Crosse Tribune (WI) - Friday, April 18, 2003 Deceased Name: Kenneth "Mike" James Fish WESTBY, Wis. -- Kenneth "Mike" James Fish, 78, of Westby died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born in Vernon County, Wis., on May 15, 1924, to Fred and Florence (Kinder) Fish. He married Bonnie Clark on Sept. 6, 1947, in Viroqua, Wis. Ken neth served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philip pines and Japan. While he was still in the service, they lived in Paxton, Ill. They moved to the Viroqua area, then Sugar Grove Ridge, then to the Dell area where he was engaged in farming and rais ing tobacco. He worked for Vernon County Highway Department from 1963 to 1986. After retirement, he contin ued to enjoy his hobbies of trapping, hunting, fishing, reading and going on trips with his wife. He also worked part-time at Viroqua Ceme tery. Mike is survived by his wife, Bonnie, to whom he was married for 55 years; two daughters, Debra (Allan) Ninas of Elgin, Minn., and Denise of Rosemount, Minn.; three sons, Gary (Carolyn) of Waupun, Wis., Mark of La Crosse and Jeffrey (Bonny) of Westby; six grand daughters; five grandsons; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Bev (George) Phet teplace of Cross Plains, Wis., Joan (Earl) Morkrid of Viola, Wis., and Jane (Orlin) Kol stad of Milwaukee; and two brothers, Claire (Lila) Morri son, Jr. of Viroqua, and Nor man (Zelda) Morrison of Portage, Wis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Veda Williams. Mike was a beloved hus band, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and broth er. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at Westby-Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastors Charles R. Coon and Steven E. Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Viroqua Cemetery, with military rites by Syver son-Funk American Legion Post and the Westby VFW. Friends may call Saturday at the church after 1 p.m.
