Virginia Earl Shade Graveside rights for Virginia E. Shade were held March 26, 1990 at Custer Cemetery. Shade was born October 18, 1919 at Granger, Texas to Edward Earl and Sarah (Strange) Parsons. Shade worked as a secretary for North American Van Lines in Grand Prairie, Texas and Nordson Glue and Paint Co., in Arlington, Texas. She moved to Custer in 1976. Virginia married Lewis Giesie Shade on January 29, 1938 at Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California. To this union two boys were born. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Arlington, Texas and was an Eastern Star Past Worhty Matron of Custer. She is survived by her husband Lewis of Custer; two sons, Ronald Shade of Arlington, Texas and Robert L. Shade of Grapevine, Texas; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and her mother Sarah Webb Dorsey of Custer, SD.
