Bio

Funeral for Walter H. Harbach, a Forest Grove resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fuiten Mortuary Chapel in Forest Grove. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery. Mr. Harbach died Tuesday at a local hospital after a long illness. He was 79. A native of Custer, N.D., Mr. Harbach came to Oregon in 1966 and worked for Permapost Products Co. in Hillsboro until his retirement. He then worked as a night security guard at Hank's Market in Cornelius until a year ago. He is survived by his wife, Nellie; son Walter, Jr., of Roswell, N.M.; daughters Diana Wickham of Custer, Mary Miller of Lead, S.D. Peggy Schlimger of Cornelius and Rhoda Jacobs of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers Erwin of Baltimore and Leland of Reno, Nev.; sisters Alice Sanders and Helen Roseberry, both in South Dakota; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
