Janice J. Hanson Douroux, 76, a long time resident of Caldwell, passed away Sunday evening, April 22, 2012 at her daughter's home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27th, 2012 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Rev. Maurice Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Janice was born August 20, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Alfred Everett and Helen Woodworth. She moved to Caldwell at the age of fifteen and then graduated from Caldwell High School in 1953. Janice married Carl E. Hanson Jr. October 3, 1953 in Caldwell. She was a nurse for Dr. Palrang, Dr. Hensley, Dr. Kreuder and Dr. Agee for over 30 years and then retired in September 1994. She lost her husband, Carl, only a few months later. Janice then married a long time friend, Peter Douroux, of Covina, California, on August 2, 1997. She moved to Covina for many years until the passing of Peter in February 2011. She then returned to Idaho to be with her family. Janice lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Bob Sullivan, until her passing, where she was surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Perry Howard, her son, Randy Hanson, her daughter, Perri Hanson, daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Bob Sullivan; her 10 grandchildren, Dustin Hanson, Deidra Sullivan, Tyler Howard, Janelle Sullivan, Brittany Howard, Carl Hanson, Isaac Howard, Shasta Hanson, Cameron Brunty and Gunnar Douroux; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Blood; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Carl and Peter; and sister, Shirley Kirkhart. Memorials may be made to Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center at 3123 Medical Dr. Caldwell, Idaho 83605. Friends may call Dakan Funeral Chapel Thursday April 26 at 6pm to 8pm.
