Bio
Daughter of Henry H. HORKY and Rose G. Horky. Married Norman E. ODVODY. Grace Eveline Horky Odvody, 90, of Pleasant Dale, died April 22, 2012. She was born November 17, 1921 in a farm house near Friend, NE. She attended elementary school at District #100, Sunflower School; graduated from Friend High School at age 15 and began her teaching career in a one-room school house. After her marriage to Norman Odvody, she became a farm wife and mother. She also was employed for nearly 30 years with Formfit Rogers. She was a member of ZCBJ Lodge #74 for 27 years, American Legion Post #354 for 28 years, Ten Year Club of Formfit Rogers, and numerous card clubs and bowling teams. Survivors include her sister, Gertrude Jarolimek, Burley, ID; her sons, Dennis Odvody and wife Trudy, Gary Odvody and wife Pam, Dwayne Odvody and wife Kathy; her daughter, Nancy Probst; grandchildren, Marcia and Matt Hunter, Camie and Bryce Williby, Joel and Becky Odvody, Corey Odvody, Tracy and Brian Figueroa, Devin Odvody, Amber Odvody, Lance Odvody and wife Ashley, Doug Kasl, Candi and Scott Johnson; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Norman Odvody; her parents, Henry and Rose Horky; her siblings, Libbie Nerud, Rose Cudley, Blanche Rischling, and Arthur Horky. Funeral services were held at the Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete. Interment at the Riverside Cemetery in Crete.
